Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. A message sent by email or through a contact form is retained as needed to answer it. Message contents are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Standard server, analytics, and browser tools may collect technical facts when a page loads. Those facts can include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring page or site; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies and similar technologies may help measure use. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, though some page features may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected technical data supports a short set of operating needs:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- sending a search request to the selected partner;
- learning which Sussex release resources visitors use;
- diagnosing errors and security problems; and
- presenting advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Other Sites and Providers
Links lead to Sussex and Morris County offices, NJDOC, courts, VINE, parole resources, federal tools, and independent search services. Once a visitor follows a link, that provider's privacy terms control. Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites for interest-based advertising.
Limited Data Sharing
Personal information is not sold. Data may be handled by search partners that process a submitted query, analytics vendors that measure visits, and advertising networks that serve or measure ads. It may also be supplied to law enforcement or another government body when a valid legal order requires it.
Security Practices
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information. No internet service, storage platform, or transmission method can be guaranteed breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive personal details that are not needed for a response.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies, a visitor may ask what personal information is held, request a correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Cookie settings are available through the browser, and advertising providers may offer their own opt-out controls. Requests can be sent through Contacts; identity verification may be required before acting.
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices and service providers may change. A revised notice becomes effective when posted here. Reviewing this page from time to time is the best way to see the current wording.
